Noel Fletcher – we will miss you

Noel Fletcher

We were all deeply saddened at the sudden passing of Noel Fletcher, husband of Lesley, father of Sandra Thompson, Grant & Scott Fletcher, grandfather of Elise & Jamie Thompson, Ruby, Lily & Zoey Fletcher. Noel’s wonderful nature, humour and generosity will be sorely missed. He was always enthusiastic to support the club.  In many of our functions, Noel would put up his hand, donate the refreshments, and man the BBQ.

On the tennis court, he had this magical touch to place the ball. Not only was it hard to get the ball away from Noel, but he always had an appropriate retort to any sledging that may come his way. But the best times I had with Noel was after the game, with some refreshments, laughing at what could have been. Noel will be deeply missed.

On behalf of myself and all the members of Collaroy Tennis Club, I offer our sincere sympathies to Noel’s family.

    1. Sending most sincere condolences from the Downes family, Noel had a knack of making people feel at home, and was a master on the court. He will be missed, but has left his mark on the club. Thinking of you all at this difficult time. Best regards, Sarah and Tony Downes

    2. Dear Scott, Lesley, and family,

We were so sorry to hear of Noel’s passing. He was a special man, warm and friendly. He made everyone at the club feel welcome and at ease. He will be deeply missed by all of us at CTC.

    3. I have only heard of Noel’s passing so my apologies for such a late condolence – I went to the Forest High with Noel and along with good mates Alan Schomberg and Kim Piper we were always good mates.
I moved to Brisbane in 1990 and basically we lost touch although we did manage to catch up for some laughs and refreshments on one of my return trips.
The best way I can describe Noel is as ‘Mr. Cheerful’ so to Lesley, his family and many friends your presence will be sorely missed rest well my friend.
