After holding an incredibly successful AO Pride event at Collaroy Tennis Club last Friday in conjunction with Tennis Australia and the Australian Open, Collaroy has won a grant from Northern Beaches Council to host a special community open day on Saturday March 4 in conjunction with Sydney WorldPride 2023 – the biggest international event in our city since the 2000 Olympic Games.
A showcase of our club’s welcoming spirit, Collaroy Tennis Club Pride Day will be similar in format to our Racquets at The Reef 100 Year open day held last year, with exhibition matches, coaching, lots of social tennis and of course, our famous BBQ and social drinks. You’ll experience a real carnival atmosphere with brightly coloured flags and bunting, music playing and a Photo Booth. (We’re also hoping to feature some major celebrities on court!)
As you can see, we’ve created a ‘Pride’ version of our logo and you can now purchase a special top with this colourful symbol of inclusivity. In the words of Tennis Australia’s National Inclusion & Diversity Co-ordinator, Irena Farinacci: “I love the Pride version of the Collaroy club logo… it looks awesome!”

It will be awesome to see a big group of us wearing these tops on Collaroy Pride Day among a sea of colour at the Club. (What a photo opp.!)
