2023 Badge - ladies

It was a fantastic first round for the Collaroy Tennis Club teams who were able to play Badge comp yesterday. Unfortunately due to the overnight rain in Sydney, matches in other venues were cancelled. However the rain stayed away long enough, which allowed two Collaroy teams to play at home.

The Collaroy Ladies team in Div 1 had a wonderful start to the comp. They played very well and had a convincing win (8 sets to 0) against the Sydney University Lionesses.

Prior to their match, Club President Vito Cincinatto and Club Captain Wil Jauco welcomed the girls; and Vito presented them with their Club shirts. He also thanked and gave a Club shirt to Scott Fletcher, team manager. This is a significant day for CTC as this is the first time the Club has a ladies’ team competing in the top division of the Sydney Badge.

The Collaroy Men 1 also had a good start to the comp, winning 5-3 against the friendly players from OneLove Tennis. A nice afternoon tea was served to the players, courtesy of the two CTC members who were celebrating their birthdays. Thank you and Happy Birthday Kenny and Garry! 🎂

Despite the uncertain weather condition, the Saturday social tennis was well-attended and all six courts were used in the afternoon.

Two Collaroy teams (CTC Ladies and Men 2) will also be playing at home next Saturday, 6 May. We’ll look forward to more exciting and competitive tennis!
