There are many benefits of being a member of Collaroy Tennis Club, including the ability to participate in organised social tennis, competitions, tournaments and Club events. To play for FREE, members must book a court during available designated times and during court opening times as follows:

Free Court Booking Availability

​

• Monday to Friday

  • All day and night, when available (i.e. not already booked and not being used for coaching, Club use or competition).

• Saturday

  • ​Morning: From opening until 12pm, when available.

  • Afternoon: No availability. All courts on Saturday afternoon from 12pm until 6:30pm are reserved for Club use including organised social tennis and Club competitions, tournaments and events.

  • Evening: From 6:30pm until closure, when available. Booking must be made before 6:00pm so that the lights can be set to turn on, if required.

• Sunday

  • Morning: From opening until 12pm, when available (i.e. not already booked or being used for coaching).​

  • Afternoon: No free use court booking availability from 12pm until court closure at sunset.
    However, during the designated time period from 12pm till court closure on Sunday afternoon, members can arrive at the courts without booking a court and use publicly available (bookable) courts (if any), provided they are not in use. Please limit informal use to 1hr and/or offer to play doubles if other members arrive informally and wish to use the same court. Please vacate the court the moment a booker arrives.

• School and Public Holidays 

  • All day and night, when available (i.e. not already booked or being used for coaching).​

These guidelines have been established to ensure fairness for all members, the coaches and the local community, while maintaining our obligations under the Lease Agreement with Council (25% of court time to be designated for public access - i.e. approx. 4 hours per court per day).

Free Court Booking Requirements for Members

​

• To hire a court for FREE, members must book a court to play during the court free booking availability times above.

• All Bookings must be made online.

• To arrange a FREE booking, enter the Member Only Number provided when you paid your annual membership fee. Enter this under ‘Membership Only Code’ on the Booking Page. 

  • Please do not share this code with non-members. Free court hire is a members-only privilege. 

  • The Membership Only Code can only be applied if your booking is made 3 days or less in advance.

• Booking Limit – 1 court per day and only up to 1 hour of booked play per day per member. However, if as a member, you’ve booked and played up to an hour with a partner and no-one else has booked your court or another available court after the initial booking, feel free to keep playing beyond the booked time with the same or another partner. But please vacate the court the moment another booker arrives. Note that non-member players must pay the guest fee of $10, no matter the time played by that guest.

• ‘Block Bookings’ among members enabling the same player/s to continue to effectively book beyond an hour are not allowed, as this prevents other members and the general public from booking courts. In situations where a member who has already played  (either as the booker or a participant) for an hour for that day wishes to play with a different member who has booked a court that same day, a $10 guest fee is applicable for the member who has already played.

• No permanent, regular bookings are allowed.

• Non-members – If playing with non-members, the cost for each guest is $10. This applies to non-member play at any time - i.e. via bookings or club social times and events. When booking online, payment is to be made via the online booking system by indicating a guest fee is applicable. If for any reason payment cannot be made online, please pay for bookings made at the Evolve Pro shop before starting to play or as soon as practical in the event the shop is unmanned. During Club organised Weekday/Saturday/Sunday social play or other club social event sessions, payment is to be made directly to a Club committee representative on the day.

• Juniors must be accompanied by an adult at all times during play.

• Cancellations should be made no later than 12 hours before the time booked. If you can’t make your booking time, please cancel your booking ASAP to allow other members or the community the chance to book the court.

Social Tennis Casual Court Use

​

• During Club organised social tennis times, designated courts are reserved exclusively for members participating in social tennis and cannot be booked.

• However, if there are spare courts available not being used for the organised social tennis (please always check with the Club Social Tennis Organiser), members may use the courts for a casual hit.

  • If playing singles, kindly offer to play doubles with arriving members.​

• If the spare courts are needed for organised social tennis, members using the courts for a casual hit will need to vacate the courts or can join in with the organised social tennis.

• For guaranteed court availability outside organised social tennis times, members can book and pay the standard public rate for court hire.
