Tennis NSW recently asked the Club to nominate for this year’s NSW Community Sports Awards. We made three submissions in three separate categories including 'Inclusion Achievement of the Year' and 'Community Sport Administrator of the Year'. We were short-listed as Finalists in all three categories and at the presentation ceremony at CommBank Stadium on June 30, we were announced as...
… the 2025 Sport NSW Community Club of the Year!

Other finalists included Armidale City Gymnastics Club, Macarthur Football Club and Orange Aquatic Club. A great result, and while we may have missed out in the other two categories, the competition was incredibly strong. It’s a cliché, but it really is an honour to have been recognised as Finalists in every category for which we nominated.
Tennis NSW CEO, Darren Simpson, stressed the magnitude of this award. He said that while other awards the Club has won were within a tennis framework, this one came as recognition among ALL sports played in NSW.
Special guests present to share in our success included the Mayor of Northern Beaches Council, Cr. Sue Heins and State Member for Wakehurst, Michael Regan M.P. Michael arrived fractionally late but made sure he didn't miss out on the 'Team Photo'.

CommBank Stadium is truly a spectacular venue. The space in which the presentation was held overlooked the magnificent playing field, which was fully lit as if for a major match, while a hydronic heating system kept the grass warm on a chilly winter's night. And both the Club's name and that of our President, Vito, were displayed in lights around the majestic Stadium on constant rotation throughout the night.
Members of the Northern Suburbs Tennis Association Committee - themselves nominated in a separate category - complimented Collaroy for the Club's achievement. Our own John Malkovich lookalike, Kenny, caught up with a mixed doubles partner from the Ulladulla Seniors Tournament, while Dave renewed acquaintances with old friend and MC for the night, Stephanie Branz. It was a great night all round.
We later made the local media when Manly Observer covered the event in an online story.
Congratulations to all the members who make our Club the special place it is.
