 SUNDAY | 26 OCTOBER 2025

The inaugural Tennis AustraliaAll Abilities Week’ is a dedicated moment in the tennis calendar to raise the profile, awareness and opportunities for the 5.5 million Australians living with disability. Tennis is committed to embracing diversity by making our sport welcoming, safe and inclusive for all. Collaroy Tennis Club and Evolve Tennis Academy are proud to have been chosen to host our own All Abilities Week event on Sunday, October 26 from 12 noon. We’ll be showcasing how those with various disabilities can enjoy and be engaged in tennis in a way that is positive and meaningful for them and there’ll be lots of fun activities for all!

TENNIS FOR 'EVERY BODY'!

Both Collaroy Tennis Club and our coaching partner Evolve Tennis Academy, believe that the benefits of the sport we love - whether the physical activity itself or the sense of community and psychological wellbeing it provides - should be available and accessible to everyone.  So after previously holding incredibly successful pride events, we’ve been awarded a small grant to participate in the inaugural All Abilities Week. This will be a fantastic event, held at the Club from 12 Noon on Sunday October 26. You’ll see the great work Evolve is doing, coaching people with disability and be able to get on court yourself and join in the Fun. Show us your support and register to attend this FREE event!

How tennis can be a champion for diversity and inclusion

"I didn’t know about wheelchair tennis before my accident. In fact, I’d never heard of wheelchair sport. But after having a hit, tennis felt like a long-lost friend who’d come back to me. It began to open doors I never knew existed, sending me places I’d never been, and giving me chances to meet people I’d never met. Tennis fueled the fire inside me and with that fire, I marched on for the next 15 years, cultivating a career out of my dream to win a gold medal for Australia.”

David Hall, OAM - former World No.1, Paralympic Gold Medallist and six-time ITF Wheelchair Tennis World Champion
