On Sunday April 12, Collaroy Tennis Club is holding a very special event, in conjunction with event partner, the Northern Beaches Veteran Wellbeing Centre.
In the lead-up to ANZAC Day, we decided it would be wonderful to provide an opportunity for Club Members and the local community as a whole, to show our gratitude and respect to those who have served or are currently serving in the Australian Defence Force, as well as their families, for everything they’ve given to protect our freedoms.
Inspired specifically by one of our own much-loved Club members Col – who served in Vietnam - we see Return Serve as one small step in helping veterans to connect and thrive in their local community.
The day will commence at 12:30pm sharp with some respectful solemnity, including bugle calls and the ‘Thank You to Veteran’ ode… but then it will be all about FUN, with many other activities including tennis (of course), golf putting, table tennis, POP Tennis, cornhole, Live Music, free food and refreshments and a heap of great prizes to WIN.
Some 60 people have already registered. Please feel free to invite your friends and family… and of course, if you have any contacts in the military / veteran community, please spread the word among them especially.
It’s our turn to ‘return serve’… see you there!
