2025 WHEELCHAIR TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2025 Wheelchair Tennis Championships were held on Sunday, 26 October when the Club joined forces with our coaching partner, Evolve Tennis Academy, to present a very special event as part of Tennis Australia’s inaugural All Abilities Week. This year's championships were attended by world-ranked players Hayley Slocombe (World No. 66) and Sheridan Brown (World No. 122). Checkout the full recap of the Championships + All Abilities Day, including all results and heaps of photos.
2024 WHEELCHAIR TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS
While Finals Day of the Club Championships had to be postponed a week due to inclement weather, last Sunday, December 8, dawned clear and fine for the 2024 Wheelchair Championships and Official Opening of our newly re-surfaced Court 4. Isla Gillespie, dual winner (Juniors and Open) at last year’s event, warned us of a likely changing of the guard in the Open ranks this year… and her prediction was spot on. Former New Zealand Wheelchair Champion, Eamon Wood, proved to be a class above everyone, taking out Isla en route to the Final in which he defeated fellow newcomer, friendly giant, Jonti Dimond to win this year’s Singles Title. Check out the results and photos of the Championships.
2023 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sunday the 29th of October saw the inaugural Collaroy Wheelchair Tennis Championships take place under sunny skies. There were lots of smiles and an unusual lack of ‘steely looks’ between competitors during the matches. Coach extraordinaire, Paula Gibson Roy, proudly watched on (attempting to restrain her coaching instincts) as Isla, Rafferty, Tallow & Oscar demonstrated their skills, knowledge and love of the game. Check out the results and photos of the Championships.
