In the recent April school holidays, a number of Collaroy’s Junior members, guided by our Coaching Partner, Evolve Tennis Academy, performed superbly in major T.A. endorsed tournaments throughout NSW and beyond. The Juniors excelled at events in Canberra, the Shoalhaven, Bathurst, Newcastle, Sydney Olympic Park, Castle Hill and even inter-state in Tasmania.

Top of the Pops was our exciting young gun Emma Leung who won both the NSW Age U14 Singles and Doubles titles at Sydney Olympic Park. What an effort! Not content with that success, Emma then travelled to Tasmania and notched up another win, this time in the Tasmania J500 Doubles. Great job Emma. You have such a promising career ahead.

Harry Henry, who many will remember for his brilliant performances in last year’s Collaroy Club Championships, stormed to a big win in the J125 Shoalhaven Open and Junior tournament. This is one of 250 Tennis Australia endorsed tournaments on the 16U Australian Junior Tour - Australia’s premier competitive pathway for junior tennis competitors.
Harry’s win in Bomaderry secured him 125 Australian Junior Tour Points, helping him in his bid to qualify for the NSW 16U State Finals later this year. It will also boost his UTR Rating, improving his seeding in future tournaments. Great effort Harry!
Hadi Adeel was another winner in the J125 category, this time in Newcastle. Competing in the 14 and Under age category, this tournament is part of the De Minaur Junior Tour, endorsed by Australia’s top ranked player, Alex de Minaur. The tour is open to players aged 12U and 14U, with the top winners from each age group over 12 months earning the prestigious De Minaur Junior Tour Scholarship. Additionally, two athletes will be awarded the Alex de Minaur Spirit of Tennis Scholarship for displaying key values and behaviour throughout tournaments. Well done Hadi!
Hadi, Kaya and Grace and Vito
Other notable achievements included Danial Sarbufin – winner of the 12 and Under Matchplay title in Sydney’s Hills District and Kaya Vich and Grace Li – Macquarie 12 Girls Doubles Finalists, while Vito Lorusso has been selected to represent Combined Independent Schools (CIS) in the upcoming NSW Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) State Schools Teams Event.
Evolve’s Director, Ryan Maloney had some proud dad moments too, with his sons Ryley (12) and Ajay (10) shining. Ryley was a Finalist in both the Bathurst and Newcastle 12 Boys Singles, and a winner of the Doubles in both tournaments, while Ajay was a Finalist in the Bathurst 12 Singles Match Play event. Ajay has also been selected in the Sydney North Team to compete at the upcoming PSSA State Schools Teams Event.
